Background

At 10:00 a.m. an oval, aluminum-colored object flew silently over the hills near Santa Teresa del Tuy and landed on a hill near earth-moving operations in the Paraiso del Tuy area. More than 20 witnesses, including engineers and surveyors, said it wove through the hills, dodged trees and flew slowly before stopping above a patch of tall Guinea grass. Rino del Negro followed it in his jeep and caught up just as it disappeared behind a small hill; driving on, he saw it take off and vanish behind hills farther away. At the patch he found the grass flattened toward the ground in a roughly circular area about 60 feet in diameter. Three similar objects had been seen flying along the same route on May 21. Eberhart cites Horacio Gonzales in the APRO Bulletin (September 1961), Coral Lorenzen and Olsen. The account follows the entry in George M. Eberhart's chronology UFOs and Intelligence (CUFOS) and the sources cited there; it is not an independent determination by From Beyond Space.
