At 11:00 p.m. on June 11, 1961, José-Gregorio Darnaude y Rojas Marcos, 28, lying in a hammock at his house on the Fuenteluega Estate in Seville, Spain, felt a prickling sensation while his animals panicked; a luminous disc about 15 feet across approached to within about 400 feet, hovered 80 feet up changing colors, and shot away at enormous speed when he ran inside.
Background
At 11:00 p.m. on June 11, 1961, José-Gregorio Darnaude y Rojas Marcos, 28, was lying in a hammock in front of his house on the Fuenteluega Estate in Seville, Spain, when he felt a peculiar prickling sensation throughout his body, particularly in his head. His dogs cowered, the sheep went completely crazy, and the crickets and cicadas fell silent. A luminous disc about 15 feet in diameter appeared from behind the house, flying from northeast to southwest, made an abrupt 90-degree turn and moved directly toward him, hovering about 400 feet away and 80 feet in the air while changing colors from white to orange to red to purple several times. Darnaude ran inside; the disc turned bright white and shot away at enormous speed. The entry cites Vicente-Juan Ballester Olmos in Flying Saucer Review Case Histories no. 18 (September 1974). The account follows the entry in George M. Eberhart's chronology UFOs and Intelligence (CUFOS) and the sources cited there; it is not an independent determination by From Beyond Space.
