At 2:00 a.m. on October 21, 1961, a brilliant fireball flashed in front of Richard and Rhonda DuBois's car on US Highway 60 between Datil and Pie Town, New Mexico, then split into four lights that kept pace with the car.
Background
At 2:00 a.m. on October 21, 1961, a brilliant fireball flashed in front of Richard and Rhonda DuBois's car on US Highway 60 between Datil and Pie Town, New Mexico, and then veered into the sky. As they later approached a canyon, they saw the light traveling in front of them. It broke into four lights that moved along with the car, even as DuBois drove at 100 mph, until the couple stopped at a roadside motel. The lights then zoomed straight up and disappeared. The account follows the entry in George M. Eberhart's chronology UFOs and Intelligence (CUFOS) and the sources cited there; it is not an independent determination by From Beyond Space.
