Apongo, Peru: About 70 mine workers see glowing round object over Catalina Huanca mine
In 1961 a round, glowing object with windows hovered for 5–15 minutes about 300 feet from a young mining engineer over the Catalina Huanca iron-ore mine near Apongo, Peru, reappeared through the day before about 70 workers and the next day followed a supply truck.
Background
A UFO appeared above the Catalina Huanca iron-ore mine of the Marcona Mining Company near Apongo, Peru. It hovered for 5–15 minutes only about 300 feet away from a young mining engineer; it was round and glowing, with windows on the upper part. The engineer looked at it through his theodolite, but it still looked fuzzy. The object reappeared throughout the day, so that all of the roughly 70 mine workers saw it, and the following day it followed a supply truck for several hours as the truck left the mine heading south on a dirt track. Eberhart cites S. Parker Gay Jr.'s account in the IUR (Fall 1999). The account follows the entry in George M.
