Background

After 11 p.m. three men fishing in two boats off the village of Le Brusc, Six-Fours-les-Plages, Var, France, noticed an elongated metallic object with a turret moving slowly on the surface about 980 feet away. It stopped, and they saw about a dozen 'frogmen' come out of the sea and climb aboard; the last diver turned and waved when the fishermen hailed them. The object lifted out of the water and hovered above the waves, showing red and green lights and a white searchlight beam that reached their boats. It then glowed orange, rotated and rose to about 65 feet. It suddenly shot off horizontally but circled back once as it climbed higher. The account follows the entry in George M. Eberhart's chronology UFOs and Intelligence (CUFOS) and the sources cited there; it is not an independent determination by From Beyond Space.
