Ezeiza, Argentina: Tower operators and DC-8 captain see glowing object at end of runway
About 3:00 a.m. on December 22, 1962, tower operators Horacio Alora and Mario Pezzutto at Ezeiza International Airport near Buenos Aires, Argentina, and the captain of an approaching Panagra DC-8 saw a large, round, glowing object at the end of the runway rise, hover and accelerate away to the northeast.
Background
About 3:00 a.m. tower operators Horacio Alora and Mario Pezzutto at Ezeiza International Airport (now Ministro Pistarini International Airport) in Greater Buenos Aires were watching an Aerolíneas Argentinas plane about to take off. The captain of an approaching Panagra DC-8 jet asked what the object at the end of the runway was. Alora saw a large, round, glowing object that had evidently descended while he was watching the airliner. The object immediately rose about 30 feet, hovered and then accelerated on a northeast course. Eberhart cites The UFO Evidence and Gross. The account follows the entry in George M.
