At 11:00 p.m. in San Pietro Vernotico, Italy, farmer Antonio de Luca was awakened by restless animals and went out to calm them. Fifteen minutes later he saw a domed disc some 132 feet long land in the village square, with dark figures moving inside the transparent dome. He tried to approach but was paralyzed 30 feet away. The object ascended in the direction of Brindisi to the north, emitting a vertical beam of green light. The account follows the entry in George M.
