Background

At 7:10 a.m. on February 15, 1963, farmer Charles Brew and his son Trevor were milking cows in a shed near Moe, Victoria, Australia, when Charles saw an object descend very steeply out of the east from a low cloud during heavy rain, at about a 45° angle. The object was about 25 feet in diameter and 9–10 feet high; its bluish lower portion, about 3 feet high, rotated anticlockwise, while the battleship-gray upper portion appeared stationary and carried a transparent dome with something like a broom handle protruding from it. Both men heard a swishing or burbling sound, which threw the nearby cows and horses into a panic. Keith Basterfield, who reviewed the RAAF, VFSRS and James E. McDonald investigations of the case, thinks it might have been caused by a funnel cloud. The account follows the entry in George M. Eberhart's chronology UFOs and Intelligence (CUFOS) and the sources cited there; it is not an independent determination by From Beyond Space.
