Background

A man driving along the Lyndoch-Gawler Road near Sandy Creek, South Australia, came across a blood-red glowing object, 25 feet across and 12 feet high, in the road ahead. He was within 12 feet of it when he braked. The object turned a lighter reddish-yellow, rose several hundred feet into the air, turned on its side and sped away. This and other UFO incidents led Sen. Jim Cavanagh to ask the federal government to make its UFO dossier public; Minister for Air David Fairbairn refused, saying that the vast majority of reports were explainable. Eberhart cites Gross. The account follows the entry in George M. Eberhart's chronology UFOs and Intelligence (CUFOS) and the sources cited there; it is not an independent determination by From Beyond Space.
