Eureka, Montana: Fred Johnson and neighbors see lighted object streak, then hang in sky
On the night of 27 September 1963 Fred Johnson and his neighbors in Eureka, Montana, saw a lighted object streak across the sky, leaving a brownish-blue trail, and then hang in the southeastern sky for the rest of the evening.
Background
At night Fred Johnson stepped outside his home in Eureka, Montana, to find out why his dogs were barking. He saw a lighted object streak across the sky, leaving a brownish-blue trail. The object stopped in the southeast and hung in the sky for the rest of the evening, until he went to bed. He called his neighbors, who also saw it. It resembled an undersized moon and appeared to be hundreds of miles away. The Tobacco Valley News reported the sighting on 3 October 1963. The account follows the entry in George M. Eberhart's chronology UFOs and Intelligence (CUFOS) and the sources cited there; it is not an independent determination by From Beyond Space.
