Background

At 9:30 p.m. Yolié del Valle Moreno and her family at Trancas, Tucumán, Argentina, observed six objects for 40 minutes from the back courtyard of their house. One hovered at ground level above railroad tracks, another with a dome and portholes was near another house, and the witnesses saw some 40 humanlike silhouettes moving within two bright lights linked by a tube. When they flashed a light at an object, the house was flooded by a strong beam, the temperature inside rose and they smelled a strong sulfurous odor. The objects were about 24 feet in diameter, each with a white and a red beam, and left a cloud of white smoke that persisted for 4 hours. Beneath the spot where one object had rocked back and forth, the witnesses found countless white balls a quarter-inch across, piled into a cone 3 feet high within a circle 28–30 feet wide, consisting mainly of calcium carbonate. The case was reported by Gordon Creighton and Oscar A. Galíndez in Flying Saucer Review. The account follows the entry in George M. Eberhart's chronology UFOs and Intelligence (CUFOS) and the sources cited there; it is not an independent determination by From Beyond Space.
