On the evening of April 25, 1964, two motorists driving on US Highway 84 between Abiquiú and Española, New Mexico, saw a strange object that was definitely not an airplane fly straight toward their car before shooting away. All they could see was a blue-flamed exhaust. The Albuquerque Tribune reported the sighting on April 27, 1964, together with burned ground found at La Madera.
