Background

Assistant Professor Vyacheslav Zaitsev was aboard a Tupolev Tu-104 airliner above Bologoye, Tver Oblast, when a huge disc with a domed cabin suddenly appeared below the aircraft. It flew a parallel course for a while, then swerved abruptly and sped away. Felix Ziegel described the case in Soviet Life in February 1968, and NICAP's UFO Investigator reported it as one of the important cases confirmed by a Russian scientist. The account follows the entry in George M. Eberhart's chronology UFOs and Intelligence (CUFOS) and the sources cited there; it is not an independent determination by From Beyond Space.
