Buenos Aires, Argentina: San Miguel Observatory astronomers watch object cross Lyra
At 10:55 p.m. on September 14, 1964, astronomers Luis Ferro and Renato Matteassi at the San Miguel Observatory, Buenos Aires, watched an object twice the apparent size of the Moon cross the constellation Lyra for 3 minutes.
Background
At 10:55 p.m. astronomers Luis Ferro and Renato Matteassi at the San Miguel Observatory, Buenos Aires, watched an object with an apparent size twice that of the Moon pass across the constellation Lyra. Its central portion was white and green, while the rear looked like half-rings of blue. They estimated its speed at three times the speed of sound and watched it for 3 minutes as it moved toward Jupiter. The account was published by Gordon Creighton in Flying Saucer Review in 1966. The account follows the entry in George M. Eberhart's chronology UFOs and Intelligence (CUFOS) and the sources cited there; it is not an independent determination by From Beyond Space.
