Background

At 10:45 p.m. private pilot George Henry Lissauer was driving near Georgetown, South Carolina, when he saw two large, silvery, oval-shaped objects, each accompanied by 6–8 smaller objects. The formations were moving slowly at about 3,000 feet. After 2–3 minutes the smaller objects went into the larger objects and disappeared. Lissauer drove directly to Myrtle Beach AFB (now Myrtle Beach International Airport) and reported them. NICAP's UFO Investigator reported the case in 1965, and Herbert S. Taylor discussed it in the International UFO Reporter in 2004. The account follows the entry in George M. Eberhart's chronology UFOs and Intelligence (CUFOS) and the sources cited there; it is not an independent determination by From Beyond Space.
