Background

At 1:00 a.m. Donald E. Flickinger, an agent of the US Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms, was driving near Lynden, Washington, when a low-flying object about 30 feet in diameter avoided colliding with his car at the last moment. He got out and watched it hover for a minute before it flew off at high speed with a sound of rushing air. He learned that nearby Blaine Air Force Station, since closed, was tracking the object. The case appears in Brad Sparks's list of Blue Book unknowns and in NICAP's UFO Investigator of March/April 1965. The account follows the entry in George M. Eberhart's chronology UFOs and Intelligence (CUFOS) and the sources cited there; it is not an independent determination by From Beyond Space.
