Santa Maria, Azores: Airport clocks stop as a white cylinder passes silently overhead
At 4:30 p.m. on 9 July 1965, a silent white cylindrical object flew over Santa Maria Island in the Azores; all electric clocks at Santa Maria Airport stopped as it passed the zenith.
Background
A white cylindrical object was seen flying over Santa Maria Island in the Azores. All electric clocks at Santa Maria Airport stopped when the object passed overhead; according to witnesses they stopped at the moment it reached the zenith directly over the airport. Weather personnel and other witnesses agreed that it was at an altitude of 24,000–30,000 feet. At no time did it make any sound. Attempts to identify it were unsuccessful. The account follows the entry in George M. Eberhart's chronology UFOs and Intelligence (CUFOS) and the sources cited there; it is not an independent determination by From Beyond Space.
