Background
At 1:05 a.m. on 31 July 1965, police officer Lewis Sikes, 29, of Wynnewood, Oklahoma, reported a UFO to the northeast. A little later, simultaneous radar fixes were obtained at Tinker AFB in Oklahoma City and at Carswell AFB in Fort Worth, Texas. Both installations tracked the object to a point 15 miles southwest of Tinker, where it disappeared. A few minutes later it was tracked again to a point 29 miles south of Tinker before being lost once more. The case is documented by NICAP as a ground-visual and Air Force radar case. The account follows the entry in George M. Eberhart's chronology UFOs and Intelligence (CUFOS) and the sources cited there; it is not an independent determination by From Beyond Space.
