Damon, Texas: Two deputies see huge dark triangle with purple light near Highway 36
On September 3, 1965, at 11 p.m., Brazoria County deputies Billy E. McCoy and Robert Goode, patrolling Highway 36 between West Columbia and Damon, Texas, saw a large dark-gray triangular object with a pulsing purple light approach to within 150 feet.
Background
At 11 p.m. Brazoria County sheriff's deputies Billy E. McCoy and Robert Goode were patrolling Highway 36 between West Columbia and Damon, Texas. They saw a dark-gray triangular object 150 to 200 feet long and 40 to 50 feet thick at the middle, with a long, bright, pulsing purple light on the right side and a long blue light on the left. It approached swiftly to within 150 feet of the highway and 100 feet in the air, its purple light illuminating the ground and the inside of the patrol car, and it cast a shadow in the moonlight. Goode felt heat on his left arm, and the pain of an alligator bite on his left index finger suddenly eased; the wound later healed rapidly. The deputies drove away in fear but returned later that night to find the object still there. The account follows the entry in George M. Eberhart's chronology UFOs and Intelligence (CUFOS) and the sources cited there; it is not an independent determination by From Beyond Space.
