Katanning, Western Australia: Motorist watches object with revolving top for an hour
At 12:30 a.m. on January 20, 1966, Lee Marshall, 21, driving on the Kojonup road towards Katanning, Western Australia, watched a large object with a revolving top and colored lights hover for more than an hour before it sped off toward Katanning.
Background
At 12:30 a.m. on January 20, 1966, Lee Marshall, 21, was driving along the Kojonup road towards Katanning, Western Australia, when he saw a row of bright lights on the brow of a distant hill. Briefly blinded by a bright yellow light, he stopped his car. From about half a mile away he watched a large object with a revolving top emit red, yellow and green lights and move up and down between roughly 50 and 2,000 feet, with a sound like swarming bees; its illuminated lower section appeared oval and metallic. After hovering for more than an hour, the lights intensified and the object accelerated away toward Katanning. Members of the Marshall family later also watched the object for several minutes as it circled the town before departing to the southeast. The account follows the entry in George M. Eberhart's chronology UFOs and Intelligence (CUFOS) and the sources cited there; it is not an independent determination by From Beyond Space.
