Background

At 8:05 a.m. Mike Dorsey and Gary Hunt, both 12, were walking along Redcoat Road in Norwalk, Connecticut, when they saw sunlight reflecting off a distant object to the west. It zoomed toward them, passed overhead from west to east, turned, made a second pass from east to west and then a third, making a low humming sound as it passed about 15 feet above them. The boys ran toward the nearby Holy Ghost Seminary and hid under a bridge abutment while the object kept maneuvering; when it hovered, it tilted edge down with a fluttering motion. The disc looked metallic, about 8 feet in diameter, with a black spot on top near the rim, a red light on an antenna-like protrusion and red and white lights that seemed to rotate counterclockwise. Nearly two hours later it took off in a burst of speed. The APRO Bulletin reported the case in May/June 1966. The account follows the entry in George M. Eberhart's chronology UFOs and Intelligence (CUFOS) and the sources cited there; it is not an independent determination by From Beyond Space.
