Castlegar, British Columbia: Bluish oval object follows car on highway near the airport
At 11:00 p.m. on 8 June 1966, Paul Hadikin, Margaret Laktin and Christine Poznecov, driving south of Castlegar Airport, British Columbia, saw a silent, bluish glowing oval object follow their car above the power lines.
Background
At 11:00 p.m. Paul Hadikin, Margaret Laktin and Christine Poznecov of Castlegar, British Columbia, were driving on a highway south of Castlegar Airport (now West Kootenay Regional Airport) when an oval aerial object about 6 feet in diameter followed their vehicle. It emitted a bluish glow with beams of light projecting upward and downward, kept pace with the car at about 45 mph roughly 10 feet above nearby power lines and was completely silent. It disappeared when they stopped to drop Laktin at her car, then reappeared and followed Hadikin's vehicle until a second car approached. Hadikin saw wing-like projections at each end, which the two women did not see. L. V. Campbell reported a separate unidentified object with a bright light at one end and a dimmer one at the other in the same area at about midnight. The account follows the entry in George M. Eberhart's chronology UFOs and Intelligence (CUFOS) and the sources cited there; it is not an independent determination by From Beyond Space.
