Wood Green, London: Glowing disc releases two smaller discs, witness gets a rash
At 2:00 a.m. on August 15, 1966, Keith Palmer and his wife in Wood Green, London, saw a glowing disc hover above a tree, release two smaller discs with white beams and pass over their house; the next morning Palmer had a sunburn-like rash.
Background
At 2:00 a.m. Keith Palmer glanced out of the window of his home on Ellenborough Road in Wood Green, London, and saw an object half the size of the full Moon approaching from the northeast. He woke his wife, and both watched the brightly glowing disc stop about 450 feet away above an old tree. After hovering briefly it emitted two smaller discs that took up positions on either side and sent out beams of pure white light; when Palmer opened the window, the small discs put out their lights and moved back into the larger one. The object tilted, moved toward the house with a noise like a humming top or muffled jet, looked more pear-shaped, showed colored lights revolving on its underside as it passed overhead, and vanished in the distance. The next morning Palmer had a sunburn-like rash on his face and his wife and son complained of headache and a sore neck; the symptoms soon disappeared. The account follows the entry in George M. Eberhart's chronology UFOs and Intelligence (CUFOS) and the sources cited there; it is not an independent determination by From Beyond Space.
