At 7:45 p.m. on December 28, 1966, the Waldman family was watching TV at their home in Santa Ana, California, when the picture became distorted. The nine-year-old son, Billy, glanced out of the window and called his mother, who saw a circular object about 20 feet across with flashing red, yellow and orange lights hovering directly outside the window. After a few seconds the object shot skyward, trailing smoke and fragments. A neighbor, Patricia Reynolds, also saw it. The account follows the entry in George M.
