One night in the fall of 1966, a young couple parked in a rural area near Rockford saw a bright light appear over nearby trees. It was so intense that it hurt their eyes, and they started the car and drove down a gravel road. The light was gone, but near where it had been they now saw two gray figures with large slanted eyes, wearing clothing with a square insignia on the torso. As they left the area they smelled a pungent, metallic odor. The account was published as a letter in the International UFO Reporter in 1984. The account follows the entry in George M.
