Crosby, North Dakota: Pilot and family see lozenge-shaped object drop strips of light
At 8:04 a.m. on 30 January 1967, commercial pilot Delton Schwanz, his wife Della and three children, 5 miles southwest of Crosby, North Dakota, saw a bright white, lozenge-shaped object hover, climb away and drop white strips of light; two motorists west of Crosby saw a similar light at about the same time.
Background
At 8:04 a.m. commercial pilot Delton Schwanz was with his wife Della and three children 5 miles southwest of Crosby, North Dakota, when they saw a bright white, sharply outlined, lozenge-shaped object to the west. It hovered momentarily, moved to the left in level flight and climbed smoothly in the southwest. It dropped white "strips" of light that descended vertically and disappeared to the south, ascending to about 30°–45° elevation. At around the same time George Larsen (or Larson) and Larry Pateof (or Pace), driving 20 miles west of Crosby near the intersection of Highways 5 and 85, saw a large white light move rapidly from west to south, drop something and disappear suddenly.
