Keeneyville, Illinois: Disc follows mother and daughters home, beams light into car
At 12:30 a.m. on March 7, 1967, Lucille Drzonek and her two daughters, driving on US 20 past Keeneyville, Illinois, saw a lighted disc that followed them toward Bartlett and hovered over a tree in their yard.
Background
At 12:30 a.m. Lucille Drzonek and her daughters, aged 24 and 17, were driving northwest on US Highway 20 just past Keeneyville, Illinois, with their beagle, when they saw a solid object about 15 feet in diameter outlined in bright white lights, with two big beams in front. As it neared the ground it took on a disc shape and began flashing red and green lights; the dog's hair stood up on its back. When they turned off toward Bartlett, Illinois, the object descended into woods, lighting the trees with a red glare, and projected two white beams into the car's rear window. When they pulled in at home, it was hovering about 10 feet above a tree in their yard; a localized grey mist appeared, and when it cleared the object was gone. The beagle remained visibly upset for two days, and a veterinarian suggested it might have heard a noise inaudible to humans. The account follows the entry in George M. Eberhart's chronology UFOs and Intelligence (CUFOS) and the sources cited there; it is not an independent determination by From Beyond Space.
