Mount Bigelow, Arizona: Astronomer sees white oval disc cross the sky for 50 seconds
At 10:45 a.m. on March 24, 1967, an astronomer at the Catalina Station observatory on Mount Bigelow near Tucson, Arizona, saw a white oval disc moving silently in a straight line.
Background
An astronomer at the Catalina Station observatory on Mount Bigelow, 18 miles northeast of Tucson, saw a white oval disc the apparent size of the moon moving silently in a straight line from northwest to northeast. It slowly changed from an elongated to a more circular shape. He estimated its speed at 600 mph, its size at 230 feet and its distance at 6–12 miles. It disappeared after 50 seconds. The report comes from a survey of astronomers published in the International UFO Reporter in 1977. The account follows the entry in George M. Eberhart's chronology UFOs and Intelligence (CUFOS) and the sources cited there; it is not an independent determination by From Beyond Space.
