Background

At 2 a.m. Ricky Banyard, 17, and four others watched and followed a spherical object with a spinning top and bottom and red and green lights for 4 hours at Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Edmonton, Alberta. As it hovered at about 200 feet, a light beam came from its bottom and illuminated the ground. The witnesses heard a muffled whistling noise while it hovered, then a screaming noise like a jet engine starting up. All its lights went out and the object took off amid a flurry of explosive sounds. Black streaks were later found on the charred road surface. The account follows the entry in George M. Eberhart's chronology UFOs and Intelligence (CUFOS) and the sources cited there; it is not an independent determination by From Beyond Space.
