Background

At 10:30 p.m. on June 14, 1967, more than 100 residents of Hall Manor Apartments in South Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, watched an object about 20 feet long, bullet-shaped, with a blinking red light at one end, a blinking blue light at the other and a soft white light in the center. It passed over an open field and descended vertically, appearing to land in a wooded park a few hundred feet away. About 30 minutes later resident John Carter saw a second object, a red flashing disc, descend into the same area and move erratically; resident Raymond McAndrew approached the lights to about 20 feet. On June 16, George Cook, local chairman of a NICAP subcommittee, found an area of about 16 by 5 feet with flattened grass and three holes in an isosceles triangle. His Geiger counter showed significant radiation at the holes at first, but follow-up measurements that evening showed none. The account follows the entry in George M. Eberhart's chronology UFOs and Intelligence (CUFOS) and the sources cited there; it is not an independent determination by From Beyond Space.
