Whitehouse, Ohio: Car strikes a brilliant light on the road, metal fragment analyzed
At 11:26 p.m. on 13 July 1967 Robert Richardson and Jerry Quay, driving near Whitehouse, Ohio, braked before a brilliant blue-white light blocking the road and felt a bump; Richardson later found a piece of metal at the site, which Roy Craig of the Colorado project analyzed.
Background
Rounding a bend near Whitehouse, Ohio, Robert Richardson and Jerry Quay encountered a brilliant blue-white light blocking the road, apparently a triangle 8 feet tall and 21 feet wide. Richardson braked, they closed their eyes and felt a bump but saw nothing. The local police did not take the incident seriously, but state police and the highway patrol investigated and found only skid marks; the next day Richardson found a piece of metal in the road, and marks on his hood and bumper suggested a collision with an object taking off. On 18 and 23 July Richardson was visited by mysterious men, the second time by foreign-looking men who threatened his wife. Roy Craig of the Colorado project tested the metal and found iron and chromium with traces of nickel and manganese; fibrous material from the front bumper was 92% magnesium, 5% aluminum, 2% zinc and 1% manganese.
