Arrecife, Venezuela: Fisherman sees flat gray-blue globe rise from boiling sea
Early on August 4, 1967, engineer Hugo Sierra Yepez, fishing about 15 miles north of Arrecife, Vargas, Venezuela, saw the sea boil in a circle and a flat gray-blue globe with a revolving rim emerge and shoot upward.
Background
Early on the morning of August 4, 1967, engineer Hugo Sierra Yepez (or Yepes) was fishing from his boat about 15 miles north of Arrecife (or La Guaira), Vargas, Venezuela, when he felt a vibration and the water began to boil “in big bubbles, in a circle about six meters in diameter.” A gray-blue, flat globe emerged. As it hovered close to the surface, dripping water, he noticed a revolving rim with triangular blue and red windows. It ascended in a curve, then shot upward. NICAP's UFO Investigator reported the case in March 1968. The account follows the entry in George M. Eberhart's chronology UFOs and Intelligence (CUFOS) and the sources cited there; it is not an independent determination by From Beyond Space.
