Background

At 4:30 a.m. on October 26, 1967, an engineer was driving a Ford Transit bus north on the A32 road near Hook, Hampshire, England, when its electrical system failed abruptly. The battery was undamaged, and while climbing back into the cab he noticed a dark object motionless over the road ahead. A few minutes later engine and radio started again, but a short way on the engine failed a second time; outside he felt a change of pressure on his eardrums and noticed an electrical smell. He then saw the object again, a disk with a pointed underside about 60 feet wide and 30 feet high, some 300 feet away and 50–100 feet above the trees, and watched it for several minutes until it tilted and moved away at moderate speed. The engine started immediately, but the driver had difficulty concentrating and some numbness in his fingers. The account follows the entry in George M. Eberhart's chronology UFOs and Intelligence (CUFOS) and the sources cited there; it is not an independent determination by From Beyond Space.
