Background

Two flight instructors, L. P. Duplantis and Robert Holder, and two student pilots in Cessna 150 aircraft were flying between Winter Haven and Melbourne, Florida, when they saw four objects in echelon formation about 6,000 feet to their right at 1,500 feet altitude. The objects were white ovals and seemed to be the size of C-130 military transports. After 10 minutes one descended close to the ground while the others continued to pace the planes. About 10 miles from Melbourne one pilot banked toward the objects, which took off upward at 2,000 mph and disappeared.
