Matozinhos, Brazil: Soldier José Antônio da Silva reports abduction by small beings
On 4 May 1969, Brazilian soldier José Antônio da Silva, 24, was fishing at Bebedouro near Matozinhos, Minas Gerais, when, by his account, small humanoid beings paralyzed him and carried him off in a craft; he awoke on 9 May about 300 miles to the east.
Background
At 3:00 p.m. José Antônio da Silva, a 24-year-old soldier, was fishing alone at Bebedouro near Matozinhos, Minas Gerais, when he dozed off, perceived figures around him and felt himself shot with something that paralyzed his legs. Two small humanoid beings, joined by a third, dragged him into a machine shaped like two saucers joined by a thick vertical cylinder, which took him to a stone room where a fourth being with red hair and a waist-long beard seemed to be their leader; there he saw the bodies of four dead men on a stone shelf. Using pictures, the leader conveyed that they wanted him as guide and weapons provider; he refused, and a bearded human figure in a friar's cassock appeared, gave him "revelations" in Portuguese that he kept secret, and vanished. The beings carried him back to their machine, and he awoke at dawn on 9 May, four and a half days after his abduction, some 300 miles to the east. He reportedly bore wounds on his neck and lameness in one leg for days afterward. The account follows the entry in George M. Eberhart's chronology UFOs and Intelligence (CUFOS) and the sources cited there; it is not an independent determination by From Beyond Space.
