Background

At 8:00 p.m. on July 4, 1969, two children, Mauricio Gnecco and Enrique Osorio, in Anolaima, Colombia, saw a glowing object about 900 feet away that approached to within 180 feet. They ran to tell other children and adults, and thirteen people, including their father, returned to see the object. Arcesio Bermúdez took a flashlight and came back in terror after seeing a small person and a craft that lit up and flew away. Within two days he lost his appetite, his skin temperature dropped, blue spots appeared on his skin and his stools became bloody; within a week two Bogotá physicians, unaware of his UFO experience, diagnosed gastroenteritis, and he died within hours of the examination. His doctor said he had previously been in good health. The account follows the entry in George M. Eberhart's chronology UFOs and Intelligence (CUFOS) and the sources cited there; it is not an independent determination by From Beyond Space.
