Port Monmouth, New Jersey: Glowing ball hovers over meadow, imprints and circles found
At 3:00 a.m. on 4 July 1970, a 33-year-old housewife in Port Monmouth, New Jersey, watched a big round ball with an eerie white glow and sequentially flashing red lights hover over the meadows across the street for 15 minutes; the streetlight went out, and imprints, circles and tracks were later found.
Background
At 3:00 a.m., a 33-year-old Port Monmouth, New Jersey, housewife woke and saw a "big round ball" with an "eerie white glow" hovering over the meadows across the street. For 15 minutes she watched it bounce back and forth, about 25–30 feet wide, while a series of red lights flashed in sequence across it; the streetlight went out and came back on when the object left. Her son and brother-in-law later found three imprints 30–40 feet apart in a triangle, circles pressed into the grass up to 15–20 feet across, and tracks leading to the creek as if something small and round had been dragged into the ditch, along with two sets of a dozen curved imprints about two feet apart. A week later the light returned and crossed the field, and the family's television, car ignition and telephone behaved strangely for days. Berthold E. Schwarz reported the case in Flying Saucer Review in 1971. The account follows the entry in George M. Eberhart's chronology UFOs and Intelligence (CUFOS) and the sources cited there; it is not an independent determination by From Beyond Space.
