Background
At 9:00 a.m. Capt. Vicente Lopes Buono, flying an airliner between Pratinha and Sacramento, Minas Gerais, Brazil, reported that his plane was paced for 20 minutes at 7,920 feet altitude over mountainous terrain by a glowing orange disc, “like two round basins, one on top of the other.” Sgt. Falcão, flight controller at Uberaba airport, suggested that he investigate the object. When the pilot tried to move closer, the object kept a constant distance, then suddenly increased its speed and disappeared. Correio da Manhã reported the case the next day; UFO Investigator, Flying Saucer Review and the APRO Bulletin followed. The account follows the entry in George M. Eberhart's chronology UFOs and Intelligence (CUFOS) and the sources cited there; it is not an independent determination by From Beyond Space.
