Background
In September 1971, a witness camped out at a small lake near the Arroyo de Miel, Málaga, Spain, heard the sound of something falling into water. He then heard another sound and saw a round shining object, 3 feet in diameter, rising from the lake. It trailed exhaust as it rose at a 45-degree angle and disappeared. An English camper nearby also observed the incident. The case is listed in Vicente-Juan Ballester Olmos's 1976 CUFOS catalogue of Type-I events in Spain and Portugal and in Dolan's USO volume. The account follows the entry in George M. Eberhart's chronology UFOs and Intelligence (CUFOS) and the sources cited there; it is not an independent determination by From Beyond Space.
