Baakleen, Lebanon: Family sees double-saucer object with windows through binoculars
At dusk on August 4, 1972, art professor Walter Hamady and his family at a summer home in Baakleen, Chouf province, Lebanon, watched an object shaped like two stacked saucers with a ring of windows.
Background
Art professor Walter Hamady, his wife Mary and his aunt arrived at their cousins' summer home in Baakleen, where the cousins told them they had just seen an odd red light overhead that emitted a puff of smoke before moving off to the southwest. Later, as the group sat on the terrace facing north, Mary Hamady noticed a bright red light moving in the Big Dipper. Through binoculars the object looked like two saucers placed on top of each other, with a central band of windows around the circumference emitting a soft yellow light, a lighted dome on top and a red and a green light at the rear. It moved slowly southeast before disappearing from view. The account follows the entry in George M. Eberhart's chronology UFOs and Intelligence (CUFOS) and the sources cited there; it is not an independent determination by From Beyond Space.
