Background

At 11:13 p.m. Enrique Moreno was delivering documents to the Ika-Renault factory in Santa Isabel, Córdoba, Argentina, when the fluorescent lights in the engineering room went on and off three times, accompanied by a turbine-like noise. Driving his motor runabout outside the plant, he encountered a tall figure glowing bluish green among a pile of chassis; as he came opposite it, his engine quit. The strongly built figure, about 7.5 feet tall, had eyes like yellow light bulbs, large pointed ears and a slit-like mouth and wore a luminescent bluish-green coverall with a broad silvery belt; Moreno felt an intolerable humming, heat and itching, smelled burning oil and could not move his arms and legs. After about 30 seconds his vehicle shot off and he found himself back at the Security Office at 11:30 p.m. with his watch stopped at 11:13, leaving 15 minutes unaccounted for; he later suffered nausea, neck pains and burning eyes, and two rectangular "footprints" of 8 by 16 inches were found in warm soil at the site. Around 11:30 p.m. and midnight, a woman named Quiroga, Norberto Grosso in Barrio Colón and many residents of Villa El Libertador reported a luminous object or globe near or rising from the plant area. Oscar A. Galíndez investigated the case and published it in Stendek, OVNIs and Flying Saucer Review. The account follows the entry in George M. Eberhart's chronology UFOs and Intelligence (CUFOS) and the sources cited there; it is not an independent determination by From Beyond Space.
