Houston, Missouri: Couple sees bright object, finds yellowed tree and imprints next day
On the evening of September 14, 1972, a married couple in Houston, Missouri, saw a bright object after TV interference; that night they saw a flash at ground level and next morning found a half-yellowed tree, flattened grass and three imprints.
Background
At 8:00 p.m. a married couple in Houston watched an unusual bright object, larger than a star, after their portable TV was disturbed by interference; it persisted for several minutes and disappeared in a burst of speed. At 3:00 a.m. they were awakened by their dogs barking at something in a nearby woods, and they saw a bright flash of light at ground level. The next morning they found an evergreen tree about 300 feet from the house that was yellow on one side and normal on the other, next to a 20 by 14 foot oval of depressed grass. In its center were three small imprints, each with an extension or “toe,” about 2.5 inches long and one 1.5 inches deep, with a blackened triangular area in the center of the imprints. The case was reported in Skylook in 1973 and listed in Ted Phillips's catalog of physical trace cases. The account follows the entry in George M. Eberhart's chronology UFOs and Intelligence (CUFOS) and the sources cited there; it is not an independent determination by From Beyond Space.
