Background

At 5:00 a.m. a truck driver on his way to work near Tyler, Texas, saw what looked like a small cub airplane fly directly in front of another car on the highway, nearly causing a wreck. It flew up over the roadside, hovered above trees and changed into a cigar shape with lights; he got out to watch, and it moved off and returned round, lit with many multicolored lights, above a nearby house, making a low thumping sound. A large, bright, square light then descended and swung from the object, approached the truck and swung back and forth; he tried to jump back into the truck but apparently passed out. He later noticed marks on his hip and shoulder and remembered the object changing from round to triangular before moving out of sight. Michael D. Swords described the case from the Timmerman files in the International UFO Reporter. The account follows the entry in George M. Eberhart's chronology UFOs and Intelligence (CUFOS) and the sources cited there; it is not an independent determination by From Beyond Space.
