At 11 p.m. on 22 October 1973, an airline sales representative and his sister on a Holiday Inn balcony in Key West, Florida, watched a silent boomerang-shaped object with a soft-blue lit leading edge pass five times at 10-minute intervals.

At 11:00 p.m. a senior sales representative of an airline was sitting with his sister on the balcony of his suite at the Holiday Inn in Key West, Florida. They watched a silent object fly past them from the west five separate times, at 10-minute intervals, at different altitudes and in different directions; they thought it was the same object each time, flying level and straight. Three times it passed directly overhead and disappeared behind the hotel. From the front it looked wing-shaped, but overhead they saw it was boomerang-shaped, with the leading edge apparently lit from within by a soft-blue light.
