Background

On the night of October 17, 1973, Clarence Ray Patterson was driving home to Pensacola, Florida, on Interstate 10. Near the exit to Loxley, Alabama, he said, a UFO swooped down, picked up his truck and pulled it inside the craft. He claimed that six short creatures with claw-like arms took him out of the truck to examine him and seemed to read his mind. After 30 minutes they released him on Florida Highway 297 just outside Pensacola. He drove immediately to the police station to report his story; the Pensacola News reported it on October 18, 1973. The account follows the entry in George M. Eberhart's chronology UFOs and Intelligence (CUFOS) and the sources cited there; it is not an independent determination by From Beyond Space.
