Uniontown, Pennsylvania: Bright domed object lands, witness fires at two hairy creatures
At 8:00 p.m. on 25 October 1973, George Kowalczyk, 22, and two 10-year-old boys allegedly saw a bright white domed object land in a field near Uniontown, Pennsylvania, and two large apelike creatures with glowing green eyes; Kowalczyk fired at the larger one.
Background
At 8:00 p.m., George Kowalczyk, 22, and two 10-year-old boys allegedly saw a bright white, dome-shaped object about 100 feet in diameter land in a field near Uniontown, Pennsylvania, making a lawnmower-like sound while screaming sounds came from nearby. Two large apelike creatures with glowing green eyes, the taller about 8 feet, walked along a fence making whining sounds. Kowalczyk fired a tracer over their heads and then three bullets into the larger creature's chest; it whined and reached toward the smaller one, the object vanished, the landing spot glowed white, and the creatures headed for the woods. A policeman arriving at 9:45 p.m. found the spot still glowing slightly; hearing movement and smelling a sulfur-like odor, he and the witnesses fled in the police car. When Stan Gordon arrived at 1:30 a.m. with four members of the Westmoreland County UFO Study Group, Kowalczyk suffered a violent emotional attack in the field, and under hypnosis with psychologist Berthold Eric Schwarz he described visions of the end of the world.
