Aische-en-Refail, Belgium: Woman's car stalls near small red object on the ground
At 4:05 p.m. on January 24, 1974, a woman driving in central Belgium southeast of Brussels saw a small red domed object on the ground; her engine slowed, the radio went dead and the car stopped until the object rose over the car and moved away.
Background
At 4:05 p.m. on January 24, 1974, a woman driving her Volkswagen in central Belgium southeast of Brussels noticed a red object on the ground about 500 feet to her left. Her engine began to slow down, the radio went dead and the car coasted to a stop about 35 feet from the object, which was 3 feet in diameter and 1.5 feet high, with a flat red dome on top and two rows of spots around its circumference. After 4–5 seconds the object rose about 2 feet and dropped back down, then repeated this; the third time it rose slowly to about 12 feet, moved above the car, showing a flat gray underside, hovered a few seconds and moved silently away to the left. The engine started again without her touching the ignition and the car began moving, still in fourth gear, as the object disappeared to the east-northeast. The account follows the entry in George M. Eberhart's chronology UFOs and Intelligence (CUFOS) and the sources cited there; it is not an independent determination by From Beyond Space.
