Al Mukalla, Yemen: Three men see white discs descend, find tracks and fused rock in wadi
At sunset on 8 February 1974 a mullah, a merchant and a physician on the roof of the Al-Hud Mosque in Al Mukalla, Yemen, saw three large white discs glide down; in the Wadi Jawlan they later found tracks, scoop marks and fused rock.
Background
Mullah Umar Siddiq, merchant Ibrahim Khaleb and physician Muhammad Watif were standing on the roof of the Al-Hud Mosque in Al Mukalla, Yemen, when they saw three large white discs gliding slowly downward. They hired three camels and headed for the Wadi Jawlan, 32 miles to the east, where they estimated the objects had landed. At dawn a vivid yellowish-white glow lit the eastern sky above the wadi for a few seconds, from three beams stabbing upward and fanning out, which slowly grew paler. In the rugged area they found deep tracks like those of caterpillar vehicles and, at three places about 325 feet apart, numerous scoop marks about 33 inches wide in a triangular area; the rock was fused and melted and the grass and thorn scrub burnt.
