Background

At 10:00 p.m., Peter Courtney, a reporter for the Minden Progress, visited Boshkung Lake, Ontario, in search of UFOs that had been sighted there recently. Just as he considered leaving, he spotted a dull red light above the treetops across the lake. The light moved slowly northward before reversing course and disappearing. Although his camera was ready, the glow was too faint to capture, and its erratic movements made it unlike any conventional aircraft. Courtney remained uncertain about what he had seen; the Minden Progress published his report on 14 March 1974. The account follows the entry in George M. Eberhart's chronology UFOs and Intelligence (CUFOS) and the sources cited there; it is not an independent determination by From Beyond Space.
