Background

At 10:15 p.m. two seminarians in Benajarafe, Málaga, Spain, watched an object about 650 feet away on the surface of the Mediterranean Sea emitting orange, yellow and green flashes. It submerged and emerged several times in a row and then disappeared into the sky at great speed. Diario Sur of Málaga reported the sighting on August 4, 1974; Vicente-Juan Ballester Olmos lists it in his catalogue of Type I events in Spain and Portugal, and Eberhart also cites Dolan's USO2. The account follows the entry in George M. Eberhart's chronology UFOs and Intelligence (CUFOS) and the sources cited there; it is not an independent determination by From Beyond Space.
